How to Choose a Ventilator
Most procurement mistakes in Pakistan come down to four things. Check each before you compare prices.

Ventilation modes. A general ICU needs VCV, PCV and SIMV at minimum. Units offering only volume control will limit you the moment you take a paediatric or ARDS case.
Battery backup. Given load shedding, ask for the tested runtime, not the rated one. Two to four hours of internal battery is the practical floor for a ward unit.
Compressor requirement. Some ventilators need a wall air supply or an external compressor. If your theatre does not have piped medical air, that is an extra cost and an extra failure point.
Service and consumables. Confirm who services the unit locally, the warranty term, and whether patient circuits and sensors are stocked in Pakistan. A cheaper machine with imported-only spares costs more over three years.
